Rosenberg & Co. is pleased to participate in the upcoming edition of Independent 20th Century with a solo presentation of works by Gertrude Greene (1904-1956). A pioneering abstract artist, Greene began her career as a sculptor in the 1920s and was deeply influenced by her time in Paris, where she encountered avant-garde movements like Constructivism. She believed in the power of art to help shape society and was a passionate advocate for artists during the Great Depression, playing a key role in the creation of The Unemployed Artists’ Group, Works Progress Administration, and co-founding the American Abstract Artists group. The fair will run from September 4th until the 7th.
