Eleanor Lakelin works exclusively with sustainably sourced British trees, felled due to natural decay. Guided by a deep knowledge of wood’s natural properties, she creates sculptural forms that honor the material’s spirit and invite reflection on nature’s rhythms, erosion, and the passage of time. Her work is held in major collections worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum (UK), the Museum of London, the National Museum of Norway, and the Mint Museum of Craft and Design (USA). In 2020, she was commissioned by Reading Museum, in partnership with Frieze London, to create a memorial work for Oscar Wilde. Lakelin is the recipient of numerous honors, including a QEST Scholarship and the British Wood Awards’ Bespoke Prize.
