Lachlan Thom
b. 1979, London, United Kingdom

Lachlan Thom is a contemporary British painter. His oeuvre is characterized by his use of pastel colors, along with his hybridization of highbrow and lowbrow themes—on his canvases, Greek mythology and populist cartoons take on the same ontological weight. Thom's work has been highly accoladed, most notably receiving The School of Visual Arts Chairman’s Award (New York, 2001). He has exhibited worldwide, including in London, Barcelona, Vienna, Florence, and New York; and his work has been acquired by collectors in England, United States, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Costa Rica. Thom lives and works in New York.
